Four people attended the Indiana Medical History Museum tour conducted by Virginia Terpening, Executive Director. The building was constructed in 1896 as the Pathological Department and the doors closed in 1969 when the building was no longer required. Ms. Terpening guided the group through the museum’s restricted sections and described some of the problems the museum encounters, including space and funding. Currently, the museum is searching for a grant to help pay for full-time staff. Full-time staff will enhance the museum’s ability to serve the Indianapolis community. Tour attendee, Joe Wehlacz offered a few suggestions. If you get a chance, please go and see this unique glimpse into medicine at the turn of the 20th century. ~ Rochelle Smith, President-Elect, InSLA

Nearly 15 people attended the Indianapolis Museum of Art Stout Library tour hosted by Head Librarian,Ursula Kolmstetter. Ursula fielded questions from the group while guiding us on a tour of her wonderful library. Several of the attendees enjoyed appetizers at Puck's after the tour. Many thanks, Ursula!

Despite inclement weather, 7 people attended Matt Theobald's presentation Thursday, February 21, 2008 held in the Indiana State Library Author's Room. The founder of Internet Search Environment Number (ISEN) began his presentation by talking about his ISEN partners and his idea of a database of databases and the revenue streams it can generate. Currently Matt is in the middle of the patent process and is pursuing venture firms with his business plan. His website is www.isen.org. This event was filmed; the film posting date will be announced soon. - Rochelle Smith President-elect, InSLA

InSLA members gathered at Andrea’s home for an after hours event. Attendance was strong we had around 18 people. We have a couple of new members in our midst and well as a few guest of current members. The setting was a great for casual conversations and networking.

For those of you lucky enough to try one of the lavish desserts or wishing you’d been there to indulge - here is a link to the Whimsical Whisk.

We hope you will be available to attend our next event. Thank you to Andrea and Michael for hosting.
